Mac OS X 10.4.1 on a Dell Latitude D400

Last night I successfully installed Mac OS X x86 on my Dell Latitude D400 laptop computer! I had to tweak one of the kext files to get the graphics working right but now everything works great! Only problem is I don't know how to wake it up from sleep mode. If anyone has any pointers, let me know!

It worked alright. But it was a pain to keep updated so I ended up just wiping it and reinstalling Ubuntu. I don't remember the exact hacks I used to get video working, but it did work. Sorry I can't help you out, it's been too long!

I think I got most of my info from the forums at insanelymac.com. If you really want OS X, just get a Mac, they're totally worth it ;-)

Good luck!

hahaha i used to have a macbook but it was stolen so this is a temporary fix until i get another 1....also, i have been in that forum for a long time, since the time of the emulator pearpc...which has been so long ago...when i asked if it was possible to run osx on a dell d400 every1 said it was impossible and the last thing that came to mind when i installed it was to edit the video files...well im going to reinstall mac os x and keep trying to get it booted.thanx again.

Sorry about your loss. I'm also sorry I can't help you more. I guess I should have kept a log or something of the various hacks needed to get it to boot. I do know it was working though, and I had it running for about two weeks before I went back to XP, followed by Ubuntu. If I find any of my old discs or any old notes or anything, I'll let you know.
